What are people's thoughts on the new signings so far?

from the new coach to the signings made it is all looking positive.

the new stand off looks very talented if a bit young (only 21) but coming from Munster he will hopefully be used to the coachs way of working and the patterns of play he prefers.

from the article in the paper I also like the way the next few seasons are being approached ie sustainable growth as opposed to all in or nothing.

Agreed on the fly half. It is a key position so hopefully his talent will make up for his inexperience.

A point well made on Rolling Maul regarding our Irish signings is how we might stand with regard to the EQP rules

Coghlan Murray has gone too so there will be room for three more non EQP's I would have thought.

Have a look at this link it hopefully explains the EQP rules effecting the Championship as long as it hasn't changed since this was published

Thanks JD - will have a read. Looks like 16 out of 22 must be EQP - leaves us a few spare slots to play with.

If only Nottingham was in Wales it would be perfect

Does anyone know the latest on Monty? Is he fit again and is he staying?

Yes I am worried there has been no announcement about Monty.

Did he not say himself that he was hoping to be back for the last few games when he was ringing season ticket purchasers?

Really hope that bang on the head has not Jacko'ed him.

Conor Carey is EQP (born in London) but there were 4 non EQP's left so there is plenty of room.
The match day squad has to have 16 EQP players in the squad to get the RFU funding. We should be fine, will know more when the squad is finalised and registered.

It is odd though isn't it that the only mainstream player the club have not confirmed for next season is the captain.

No word either on the fates of Josh Poullet, Alex Smit, Ben Brownlie or Jay Heath. Not frontliners I know but they are listed as squad members on the website.

Otherwise the new squad looks pretty strong. Cover everywhere except on the wing.
